W. Michael (Mike) Desmond
President
Mike Desmond is President and Chief Executive Officer of Desmond Insurance. He is responsible for developing, establishing and executing the firm’s strategic and operational plans.
Mike has been in the agency since graduating from Xavier University in 1961. He has held numerous positions in his tenure including customer service representative, account manager and salesperson.
Mike is a past president of both the Kentucky and Northern Kentucky Independent Insurance Agents (IIA) Associations. He serves and has served on numerous insurance company agent advisory boards including Unitrin Kemper and Travelers, Inc. In addition, he currently sits on the board of Fifth Third Bank, Northern Kentucky.
Beyond his work in the Insurance and Finance industries, Mike is also an active member of the community. He serves as Chairman on the board of Carmel Manor, a retirement facility in Ft. Thomas, Ky. He has served as chairman on the school board at Newport Central Catholic and remains involved in school betterment projects. He is also a Paul Harris Fellow in the Campbell County Rotary Club, an organization dedicated to addressing various community and international service needs.

Dennis D. Desmond CIC
Vice President of Operations
Denny joined the agency after a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy. Dennis is a graduate of Xavier University and achieved his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1988, and served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of KY (IIAK) in 1997. He currently sits on the National Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers as Kentucky’s National Director. He and his wife Jan have three daughters: Shannon, Sarah, and Colleen; and two sons: Tim and Dennis.

Kevin T. Desmond
Vice President of Sales
Kevin is a 1974 graduate of Newport Catholic High School and a 1977 graduate of Xavier University. Kevin entered the agency in 1976 and has worked in both the personal and commercial departments of the agency. Through the years, Kevin has completed many insurance related courses and currently serves as the agency’s VP of sales.

Patricia (Patty) Drees CIC
Property & Casualty Insurance Specialist
Patty has been with the agency since 1978. She has earned the designations Certified Insurance Counselor, Accredited Advisor in Insurance, and Certified Professional Insurance Woman. She has served as a customer service representative, personal lines manager, underwriting manager, and is currently the administrative manager.

J. Wesley (Wes) Ernest CPCU, CIC
Property & Casualty Insurance Specialist
Wes graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1978 and began his insurance career that same year as an underwriter for American Modern Home Insurance. In 1980, he moved to a position with Hartford Insurance as a senior production underwriter with marketing, training, and underwriting responsibilities. In 1985, Wes joined Desmond Insurance as a producer. Wes has been very successful in attracting a large number of clients who rely on him for their financial security.

Dennis Houlehan
Property & Casualty Insurance Specialist
Denny graduated from Covington Catholic High School in 1971. He joined Desmond Insurance as a personal and commercial lines producer in 1990. Denny came to the agency with 15 years experience as an underwriter and marketing representative for the Great American Insurance Company.

Sean M. Desmond
Property & Casualty Insurance Specialist
Sean is a licensed Property & Casualty insurance agent focused on working with individuals, families and businesses to find an optimal insurance solution. He joined the agency in ’07 right after earning his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering form the University of Dayton. Among Sean’s specialties are multi-policy personal insurance (homeowners, automobile, life/health, umbrella) and hi-tech commercial insurance for firms dealing in electronics manufacturing, information technology, medical technology & telecommunications. Shannon Desmond Walz CIC, ACSR
Property & Casualty Insurance Specialist
Shannon began her full-time employment with the agency in June of 1992. She earned her Accredited Customer Service Representative designation in 1993 and her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2001. Shannon served on the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky's Young Agent Committee for eight years and was awarded the Outstanding Young Agent Award in 2002. She was also awarded with the Platinum Performer Award from the Kemper Insurance Company in 2004.

Bridget A. Kubera
Assistant Sales Manager
Bridget joined the Commercial lines department of our agency in July 2006. Her current position is Assistant Sales Manager. She is responsible for risk assessment and placement of commercial accounts. She works hand-in-hand with the commercial lines producers to provide our customers the most comprehensive and competitive quotes available. Bridget has 15 years experience in the insurance industry. She began her career after graduating from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia with a B.A. in English Literature. Bridget has been a licensed agent in New York and Florida and is currently licensed in Ohio. She is dedicated to friendly, professional customer service and is ready to answer your commercial insurance questions.

Terence (Terry) R. Desmond
Benefits Specialist
Terry joined the agency in May of 2007. He specializes in life, health, disability and related products for both individual and group clients.
Terry graduated from the University of Dayton in 2007, concentrating in Finance and Business Administration.

Jennifer joined Desmond Insurance in December, 2002 as a personal lines customer service representative. After earning a degree from Thomas More in the fall of 2004, Jennifer joined the commercial lines department as a sales and service representative. She currently holds the designation as a Certified Insurance Service Representative.

Sarah Desmond Beyersdoerfer CISR
Property & Casualty Insurance Specialist
Sarah started in the agency as a receptionist in 1996. She moved to a customer service representative position for three years, and then advanced to her current position as a sales and service representative for personal lines risks. She currently holds the CISR designation.

Mark Kay has been with Desmond Insurance since 1991. She is in charge of payments, receipts, and reconciliations.

Jan Desmond
Receptionist
Jan graduated from Summit Country Day in 1970. She joined the agency in November of 1999. Jan is the office receptionist.
